I am having a problem with my college/university. Where can I file a complaint?

If you are having a problem with your school, you should tell someone about it by submitting a complaint. Where you submit a complaint depends on the type of benefits or loans you may be receiving.
If you are receiving federal financial aid, such as Pell grants or Federal student loans, you should submit your complaint about the school to the Department of Education (ED). If you are receiving GI Bill® benefits, submit your complaint about the school to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). If you receive military tuition assistance or MyCAA benefits, submit your complaint about the school to the Department of Defense (DoD).

If you are having a problem with a private student loan or the servicing of a federal loan, you can submit a complaint about the loan with the CFPB online or by calling us at (855) 411-CFPB (2372).
No matter where you submit your complaint, each agency will work to get you a response.

Depending on your issue, you may want to file a complaint with your school’s accrediting agency or State approval agency.
